Arena Issue 009: Hello, World is dedicated to one of humanity’s most transcendent creations: software.

To our ancestors, the notion of software (to say nothing of computers) would have been baffling. Software, a set of instructions to teach a computer how to act out our human wishes, required the creation of new languages.

Today, the future of software is in flux. Will developers be writing code in 2030? Will our grandchildren have any concept of “software” at all? We don’t know! But in this issue, we look back on where software comes from and look ahead to where it may go next (and where it might take us).
